Looking for a training partner or group Greater DM Recreational Trails

Bike Group Expectations

  • All riders will sign in prior to leaving and sign out once they have completed the ride.

  • There will be three organized groups leaving at 7a, 8a, & 9a respectively. Groups will be broken down as such;
  • 7am: Experienced rider’s with the ability to maintain 20mph or better for more than 20 miles at a time. Knowledge of riding in a paceline.
    8am: Intermediate to Experienced rider’s ability to maintain 16-20mph for more than 20 miles at a time.
    9am: Newer riders. This group will focus on learning and training with the focus to bring them into the 8am group. It is a goal to have the 7am rider’s ride with this group to help in instruction.

  • Routes will be posted in the morning prior to leaving. It will be encouraged for one person in the group to take the map to ensure the route is followed. Distances and lengths can be discussed prior to the Saturday’s ride. Use of the message board is encouraged.

  • All groups will pull together at any turn.

  • Groups are to observe all traffic laws.

  • If a rider chooses not to continue on the scheduled route, the rider must return on the same route they rode. NO SHORTCUTS or DEVIATING from mapped routes if you choose to turn around.
  • If a set route has to be shortened all decisions are to be relayed to the entire group.

  • Cell phones are encouraged to be carried and exchanging of emergency numbers is also encouraged.

  • If a group chooses to complete a longer ride than expected please state such on the sign in sheet.

It is the intent of these expectations to keep all riders safe and accounted for. Since we cannot control the environment, traffic, and other outside influences we are attempting to control what we can. We want everyone to have a safe and beneficial ride. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Jason Bernstein.
